How to Use Teak Sealer
We recommend you apply Teak Sealer 2-3 times a year for full protection.
For Teak cleaning, you can use the Teak Cleaner & Restorer. For everyday cleaning, use our Teak Shampoo or a water-based solution.
Teak already has a high natural oil content. We do not recommend the use of Teak Oil on our luxury outdoor furniture as it isn't as effective as Teak Sealer, and can create Black Spots/Blemishes if not used properly.
Directions for use: Wear protective clothing; rubber gloves and safety goggles. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation. Ideally, work outside on a dry day. Carefully cover the ground on which the furniture is being treated and also any metal (particularly Aluminium) and fabric.
To achieve optimum results it is essential to first clean the Teak thoroughly with our Premium Teak Cleaner and Restorer. The Teak must be completely dry and clean before applying any sealants.
Shake the can and stir the contents thoroughly before use. Apply Premium Teak Sealer directly in direction of the grain using a flat soft paintbrush. Leave to act for a few minutes and then immediately wipe with a soft cotton cloth. Remove any drops that fall onto as yet untreated surfaces with a soft cloth and white spirit before they dry.
The surface is dry to the touch in 5-10 minutes and still feels slightly tacky for a short while. This is normal. The surface will quickly dry again in dry, sunny weather. It takes longer in wet weather or if the product has been applied indoors. Always treat all parts at the same time. Premium Teak Sealer does not leave any stripes or marks behind. Once dry, a second coat can be applied to horizontal parts (tabletops, armrest and seats).
